I will be having a conversation at Vanderbilt University's Wond'ry Innovation Lab with Shan Foster, Vice President of External Affairs & AMEND Together at YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee. We will be chatting about owning, appreciating, and caring for our bodies as a form of political action and the importance of men as allies along with sharing the vital work that AMEND does in the community.
Shan graduated from Vanderbilt University where he was named SEC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year, NCAA Division I All-America and Lowes Senior CLASS award winner. Foster was drafted into the NBA by the Dallas Mavericks in 2008 and inducted to the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2009. He is committed to elevating the conversation about violence against women, engaging men to be leaders and role models, and educating young men and boys about healthy masculinity and respect. He is a fierce advocate, and I can't wait to talk to him!
