4 Research-Backed Ways to Make Sticking with New Habits Easier

Greetings from my weirdly-warm back porch! I'll keep things brief today, as I know we're all trying to catch our breath at the end of the year. If you are considering ANY kind of resolution (or even a simple pivot) in the New Year, please read this week's Hey, Health Coach! It includes several key tools I've learned over the last 19 years working with clients. "Tired of Failing" wrote in to ask How Can I Stay on Track with My Goals? In my answer, we cover:

  • 4 evidence-based practices to make sticking with new habits easier

  • 3 crucial choices when you're considering a habit change

  • How micro-habits grow

  • How to incorporate a "Gap Ritual"

THANK YOU for being part of this community in 2021! Whether you're brand new or have been here for years, I hope these letters offer encouragement and solid, research-backed information on establishing your own, UNIQUE version of healthy. Wishing you a safe, peaceful New Year. Please reach out if you need to talk.

From renewable energy to vaccines, rescuing endangered animals to LGBTQ+ rights, racial diversity to equal pay, here are 26 Good News Stories from 2021.

I was excited this week to share a new feature by Nashville Voyager. In the interview, we discussed my journey as a solopreneur (a.k.a. drifter) and what sets my third book, The Habit Trip, and my coaching apart. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share a little about what I do and who I work with.

"I don’t believe habit change has to be painful. In fact, that’s the quickest way to fail... I work with high-achieving, stressed-out professionals who don’t like submitting to other people’s rules about what they should or shouldn’t do about their health."
