With my new book coming out next month and the election on the horizon, it is time for a reboot, to better communicate with you about my books, my message, and our collective well-being. Physical Disobedience launches on August 21 (pre-order here), and it felt like the right time to hone in on the work I’m most passionate about—spreading the message that the decision to respect and care for our bodies is both powerful and political.
In the first few pages of the book, I explain what I mean, so rather than reinvent the wheel, I’ll copy and paste those words here:
“Physical Disobedience is any action that feeds, strengthens, or nurtures our bodies as a direct, unapologetic act of defiance. It is fierce appreciation for what our bodies can do, how they feel, and how they look in all of their ‘imperfect’ glory. It’s a concrete, immediately impactful way to push back that benefits each of us as individuals while simultaneously effecting positive, social change. In other words, taking care of our bodies is a form of political action.”
The new website, my social media, and the events we are planning all over the country will be celebrations of physical disobedience and genuine beauty unleashed. Here you will find resources to help you take care of yourself and the causes you care about.
As we head into the mid-term election season, my hope is that we enter it feeling strong, empowered, and ready. Taking care of ourselves doesn't only nurture our bodies, it pays homage to the generations of powerful women who came before us and lights the way for generations to come.

Our bodies belong to us. Let's take them back for our own power and pleasure.
