Orthorexia is “an obsession with proper or ‘healthful’ eating,” according to the National Eating Disorder Association.
It's a fixation on the quality of food rather than the quantity, and it becomes problematic when it begins to compromise nutritional intake or quality of life.
Eating well is wonderful goal, but the ability to be flexible—to enjoy travel, trying new restaurants, and comfort food without feeling like you're doing something "wrong"—is also important for health and happiness.
